Okay, so about my trip. It was marvelous. Absolutely wonderful. I arrived in Paris on Monday night. After a long day. Had to turn in papers, thought I was going to miss my flight, but it was okay. I made it. So the I arrive at the airport get my luggage and try to find the metro. I am supposed to meet a friend at the train station. Well, to take the metro from the airport (Orly) is 9.10 euro. 9.10!!! ARe they Crazy?? Yes, I think they are. So I finally get off the train and the first thing I notice is the amount of people of the African persuasion. Take no offense if you are or are not African. Anyways, the reason I mention it is because I don't really see it all that much in Madrid, at least not in the same way. Camille said it best they are integrated into society much more. In Madrid, there are Africans also, but you mostly see them on the street selling stuff and most are illegal, in my experience anyways. In France, they are in the work force and a part of society which was just interesting to see in a place I think of as mostly European. So that was very interesting to see. A lot of people thought Camille and I were African and tried to speak with us inFrench, but we aren't so it didn't work. Okay apart from that I just loved Paris. It was just like in the movies and the pictures. I don't know if it's just you think this is Paris so it's all great or it just is, but I woke up every day thinking, I can't believe I'm here. I loved the look of the city, the people were actually very nice to us, so we don't think they were rude. And All our hostels spoke some English and we communicated in a mixture of English, Spanish, Italian and sign language. By the way it is also interesting to see other countries sign language. I wonder if there is a program where you can learn international sign languages. On the train to Florence we saw a group of deaf people, is why I mention it. So I had a great time, this is already long so I'll do another post. This picture is a picture of Paris, what you can see from the train platform that I was on, it came out really nice. It looks like a widescreen movie shot. Okay on the the next section.
